Hi friends!!

Today I am here with my latest painting of one of the Indian tribal/folk art forms , Gond painting.

This is my first try at this beautiful Indian tribal art.Earlier I have done Warli and Madhubani paintings.Now this is the third Indian folk/tribal art form that I am trying.

Indian folk art , Gond painting 

This post is about another beautiful Indian folk art , Gond painting.

The Gonds or Gondis are the largest Adivasi Community in India and are Dravidian’s whose origin can be traced to the pre-Aryan era. They are mainly found in Madhya Pradesh and its surrounding States like andhra pradesh,odissa,uttar pradesh,maharashtra and chattisgarh. The word Gond comes from Kond, which means green mountains in the dravidian.Their language is related to Telegu and other Dravidian languages. About half of Gonds speak Gondi languages, while the rest speak Indo – Aryan languages including Hindi.
